Nigeria rabbit scientists, especially members of the World Rabbit Science Association, Sub Sahara (WRSA-SSA) have been enjoined to exploit the financial support available from some granting agencies to be able to attend the 12th World Rabbit Congress to be held in the city of Nantes, France from 1st to 3rd July 2020. This was contained in the New Year message of the president of WRSA-SSA, Professor S.O. Oseni, made available to Livestonews.
In the message Professor Oseni of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife listed some organizations that members of WRSA-SSA could approach for travel support. These includes
(a) WRSA Travel grants (for young scientists below 35 years) which unfortunately closed on the 30th of November, 2019.
(b) Tertiary Education Trust Fund or TETFund (https://www.tetfund.gov.ng/)
(c) African Network for Scientific and Technological Institutions or ANSTI ( www.ansti.org).
He also encouraged scientists who would like to present their research findings at the congress to tap into the opportunity of the extension in submission of papers which is now to close on 15th of January, 2020.
The timelines for the 12WRC as contained in the release are as follows:
- Paper (4 pages max) submission: September 15, 2019 – January 15, 2020
- Communication notification: March 15, 2020
- Early registration deadline: May 15, 2020
- Congress dates: 1-3 July, 2020
