The Netherlands Africa Business Council in conjunction with Premier Agricbusiness Academy and  Embasy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Nigeria on 14th February 2020 gathered some stakeholders in the Nigeria poultry industry to discuss the findings on the Nigeria Poultry industry and expose the possible collaborative areas between Dutch and Nigeria governments ( G2G) and Poultry business concerns (B2B).

The roundtable stakeholders meeting which took place at Protea Hotel, Lagos, examined the various challenges and opportunities in the industry including finance, marketing, knowledge gap and health issues.  Expert presentations showed that overall cost of production of table eggs is lower in the Netherlands, especially cost of day old chicks.

Some of the expert presentation included that of LIFA president, Dr Stephen Adejoro, who postulated that the traditional egg recipe monopoly of hard shell cooking, and egg frying needs to be broadened in order to deal with the critical issues of egg glut and occasional bearishness of the poultry product market.

The discussants were later grouped into three syndicate sessions to deliberate on a three problem statement that will need a G2G or a B2B collaboration and intervention by the kingdom of Netherlands.

Among the discussants at the roundtable discourse were Mr Mackenzie Masaki  (Netherlands Agribusiness Council),   Mr Francis Toromade (Premier Agribusiness Academy), Dr Stephen Adejoro and Mrs M.A. Adejoro (Livestock Industry Foundation for Africa), Mr Taiwo Adeoye (President, Animal Science Association of Nigeria), Dr Oduntan (Chairman, AmoByng Nig Ltd), Mr Simeon Owhofa (CEO, Nutrivitas ltd), Prof. E.A. Iyayi (Registrar, Nigeria Institute of Animal Science) and a host of other important poultry stakeholders.
