Colleagues mourn the death of Professor Olumide Tewe

One of the brightest minds in non ruminant animal nutrition in Nigeria has gone to rest. As the day was winding down on Wednesday 27 November 2019, news of the demise of Professor Olumide Odeleye Tewe began to spread from the fountain of knowledge, University of Ibadan, where the erudite scholar has cut his teeth and traded his skills in the last 5 decades.

Professor Tewe is a renowned pig nutritionist with several accolades to his credit. He is well known for his works on cassava as feedstuff for livestock, especially swine, for which he is internationally recognized. The erudite scholar was scheduled to take a bow formally out of the university in April 2020 and this weighed down heavily on colleagues who were in awe of his sudden exit.

Few of the comments from his professional colleagues are reproduced here on livestonews
